Product Details

KM III Max Static Rope is an excellent choice for heavy exposure fixed lines, big wall hauling, caving, and a variety of rescue applications. Due to its well-balanced, low rotation, abrasion resistant design and its unique twill pattern polyester cover, it is perfect for work placement, photography and smooth descents.

KM III Max Static Rope features the same great construction as the standard KM III but with the added feature of our Twill Pattern Technology. This results in a smoother cover that reduces drag, increases abrasion resistance, and allows for finer control on descents. The smooth, low profile sheath allows for faster ascending and the reduced drag makes this rope perfect as a backup line.

Features:

  • Twill pattern cover design
  • Very high abrasion resistance
  • 32-strand cover for optimum cover/core ratio
  • Polyester cover over polyamide core
  • Excellent UV protection
  • Perfect for long rappels or as a backup line
  • Well suited as a hauling or tag line in multi-pitch climbs

What is Twill Pattern Technology (TPT)?

MAXIM’s Twill Pattern Technology (TPT) is a special cover design resulting in a twill pattern (one over one) or weave. Due to this design the cover has a smaller profile in cross-section than plain pattern ropes - the more traditional-looking climbing rope cover (two over two). A result of the smaller profile is improved abrasion resistance over abrasive surfaces, as well as significantly reduced drag in carabiners and mechanical devices. That’s why climbers use TPT-ropes for long rope lengths where drag should be reduced.
